Britbox, ITV's 'A Taste For Murder' production begins in Croatia, Italy

Production has commenced in Croatia on BritBox's six-part crime procedural A Taste for Murder, produced by Eagle Eye Drama and in association with ITV Studios.

Set in Capri, A Taste for Murder features classic Italian cuisine as the main ingredient to each episode’s central murder mystery, highlighting how food can foster connection, community, and healing.

Production will later move to Italy; production services are provided by Drugiplan.

Warren Brown stars as DCI Joe Mottram, a London detective who relocates to Capri after his wife's sudden death with his daughter Angelica (played by Beau Gaddsdon). Downton Abbey's Phyllis Logan stars as Elena Da Vinale, the witty, fiercely loyal, loving matriarch of the Mottram's in-law family and front-of-house manager of the family restaurant, and Gomorrah's Cristiana Dell’Anna plays Naples' state police Inspector Lara Sarrancino. 

Rounding out the principal cast are Casino Royale's Urbano Barberini as Elana's husband and chef Gennaro Da Vinale; Alessandro Fella (Barbarians 2) as Gennaro's nephew Luca Da Vinale; Gaia Scodellaro (The Equalizer 3) as Daria, a local divorcee who works in the restaurant kitchen, and Those About To Die's Alessandro Bedetti as Daniele, a young lothario who falls in with Angelica.

A Taste for Murder is created and written by Matt Baker, whose credits include Channel 4's Patience, ITV's Professor T, and Britbox's Hotel Portofino. The series is directed by Jon Jones of Hotel Portofino and Whitstable Pearl and produced by Megan Ott whose credits include HBO's House Of The Dragon.
