Baltasar Kormákur begins production on Netflix's 'Apex' in New South Wales

Production is underway in New South Wales on Baltasar Kormákur's survival thriller Apex for Netflix.

The film stars Charlize Theron, Taron Egerton, and Eric Bana, and filming began in February in Sydney and Western Sydney.

From Monday March 3 to Friday, March 8, filming will take place in Glenbrook Gorge, using a unit base set up at Lapstone Oval.

The film follows a grieving woman who retreats into the wilderness, only to find herself in a game of cat and mouse with a serial killer.

Apex is produced by Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and David Ready for Chernin Entertainment; Ian Bryce for Ian Bryce Productions; Charlize Theron, Beth Kono, and AJ Dix for Secret Menu; and Baltasar Kormákur for RVK Studios. US-based Xm2 Pursuit provides drone filming services.

The film is executive produced by Ray Angelic, Will McCance, and Dawn Olmstead for Secret Menu.

Apex received support from the NSW government and The Australian Government’s Location Offset.
