BBC, ZDF commission spy series 'Honey' from 'Extraordinary' writer Emma Moran

The BBC and ZDF have commissioned Cold War era dark comedy Honey.

The series is written by Extraordinary writer Emma Moran and follows a deep cover MI6 agent in East Berlin who finds herself caught in a love (and potential death) triangle between Friedrich Bauman, the new Head of Counter Espionage for the Stasi, and CIA operative Aaron Neeland.

The six part series is made by Sid Gentle Films Ltd, a BBC Studios’ owned production label, for the BBC and ZDF.

Moran is the lead writer alongside Emme Hoy of Renegade Nelle, and also executive produces.

Executive producers are by Sally Woodward Gentle and Lee Morris for Sid Gentle Films Ltd and the producer is Christopher Hall.
