Production has begun in Australia for the next instalment in the MonsterVerse franchise.
Directed by Australian filmmaker Grant Sputore, the feature is a sequel to Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024) and the sixth film in the MonsterVerse franchise.
Filming is taking place in Queensland, marking the fourth MonsterVerse title to shoot there, following Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla vs Kong (2021) and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024).
The production was secured through Screen Queensland’s Production Attraction Strategy, with the support of the Australian Government’s Location Offset and the City of Gold Coast.
Dan Stevens will reprise his role as Trapper alongside an ensemble cast featuring Kaityln Dever, Sam Neill, Jack O’Connell, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Sam Neill, Matthew Modine and Delroy Lindo.
Produced by Legendary Entertainment and distributed by Warner Bros, the film is scheduled for release in the US on March 27, 2025.
