First look at Prime Video's 'The Assassin' with Keeley Hawes, Freddie Highmore

Prime Video have released the first look at The Assassin, which filmed on location in Greece. 

Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore star and serve as executive producers. Faliro House Productions are the Greek production service company.

The six-episode series is written by Harry and Jack Williams, and also stars Gina Gershon, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Jack Davenport, Alan Dale, Gerald Kyd, Devon Terrell, Richard Dormer, and David Dencik.

Set on a remote Greek island, retired assassin Julie (played by Hawes) is visited by her estranged son, Edward (Highmore), who has questions about his paternity. Just as he plans to confront her, the situation unravels and the pair are forced to go on the run.

Krissie Ducker, Hamish Wright - who serve as executive producers - and Selina Lim are also writing. Sarah Hammond and Daisy Mount serve as executive producers for Two Brothers Pictures. Nige Watson is producer with Lisa Mulcahy directing episodes one through three, and Daniel Nettheim directing episodes four through six.

Two Brothers Pictures is a London-based independent production company that joined the All3Media family in February 2017. Their credits include Fleabag for BBC and Amazon, Liar  for ITV, BBC's Baptiste and The Tourist.

The series is produced in association with ZDF, the German co-production partner, All3Media International, and Stan in Australia.

ZDF is Germany’s national public television broadcaster run as an independent non-profit corporation under the authority of the Länder. Stan is an Australian local streaming service and home of original productions such as Black Snow and The Tattooist Of Auschwitz.
