London based production company 60Forty Films has begun production on The Dispatcher in Victoria, Australia for Apple TV.

Filming on the six part series takes place on location across Victoria and at Docklands Studios Melbourne.

Patrick Brammall, Maxine Peake, Brendan Cowell, Daniel Henshall and Zahra Newman star, with Werner Film Productions providing production services.

Brammall playts detective Ian Hunt whose daughter Maggie disappeared ten years prior. During his work as a police disaptcher, he receives a distress call from a young girl he believes is Maggie which sets him on a path to find her no matter ther cost.

Kris Mrksa (creator of ITV's White House Farm) adapts the story from a novel by author Ryan David Jahn. The series is directed by Christian Schwochow (The Crown) who also executive produces.

According to FilmAus, The Dispatcher will generate 730 job opportunities and engage over 220 local businesses, delivering a $45M boost to the state’s economy.

Other productions filming in Australia include the film adaptation of David Walliams' Fing by Jeffery Walker; Baltasar Kormakur's Apex for Netflix; and Spa Weekend for Brouhaha Entertainment, Black Bear Pictures, and Suzanne Todd Productions.
